Description
Mayan Glyphs 8″ Whole Cloth pattern with 2″ Mayan Trim sashing
This pattern is 8″ wide with no repeats. It has 15 different Mayan hieroglyphs carved across the surface. The typical stylized representations have been taken from various stele and bas reliefs from ruins in the Yucatan region. Some represent date and others phrases or remarkable occurrences in the history of the Mayans. Rows can be evenly stacked upon each other giving the appearance of a “page” of Mayan writings or the individual glyphs might be used as quilting in open blocks
The inspiration for the Mayan Trim sashing came from a stele found in Veracruz, Mexico.
