If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft
And from thy slender store
Two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole,
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.

~ Saadi (1184-?1283), Persian poet

We are living through a time of trial and fear. Our world has changed and many of us are searching to find the stability we once took for granted. Amidst the challenges of this week I looked out the window and saw the flowers raising their jaunty heads as if to say, “Cheer up! Take heart!”

I remembered a song of my childhood. “In my pretty garden the flowers are nodding. ‘How do you do?’ they say. ‘How do you do today?’ In my pretty garden the flowers are nodding.” (Anon) They know the world will right itself through the help of God and the kindness we show to one another. I’m glad the “rebirth” of Easter is coming soon.

I am fond of sunflowers and this pantograph makes a plain quilt with squares sparkle! I really like the ability to move the pattern so it doesn't stack.

I like this pattern but am going to get it in the smaller size also. The big size "loses" some of its design when you quilt it. I do like it for "busy" fabrics that will not show the quilting as much. It is a fun pattern to do.
