Nor’easter Set #31

($50.00 value)

Brrr! it’s cold up there.  Remember the icy storms of the east coast.  Thrill at the Salty Seas!  I designed these patterns the first year I went to MQX and we had a Nor’easter.  Slush, slush!

Included are: Nor’easter 11″ Pictogram, Whale of a Tale 5.5″ Border and 8″ Salty Seas Border.

Nor’ Easter 11″ Pictogram

This pattern is 11″ wide with no repeats. It has 4 panels of 3′ each all connected in one continuous-line for 12 feet of Edge 2 Edge quilting!  It includes the following designs:

Portland Head Lighthouse, Lobster Dock, Traps & Floats, House-edged Bay, Frothy Waves, One-horse Sleigh, Great Stone Face, Sailing Dinghy & Skiffs, Cuttyhunk Church, Nantucket, and Covered Bridge.

A few years ago I designed this pattern in honor of our visit to MQX.  It must have triggered the Nor’easter they had that year.  Brrrr!  Slushy, slushy!

Attached is a layout of my  Nor’easter quilt and some pictures of  “It’s Gonna Blow” (bargello quilt).   Whale of a Tail Border and Salty Seas Border/Panto are shown quilted around the pictogram.  Don’t they look great?  You can get all of them in the Nor’easter Set for 20% OFF!

Also, pictured is a beautiful log cabin variation quilt by Jurgen and Kathy Nittner.  I love the way they selected piecing that would show off their beautiful quilting.  Wendy Bynner had fun with her own version of the quilt and lighthouse!  You can too!

Whale of a Tail 5 1/2″ Border Pattern

From Moby Dick to cartoons, whales have an universal appeal.  These 5″ whales swim around the border of my quilt, “It’s Gonna Blow” and they’ll have fun splashing around yours, too. I’ve stitched them around my Nor’Easter Pictogram, but you’ll find other uses too.

These whales are also part of the Nor’easter Set making them 20% OFF.

The top “waves” of this border are a separate line.   It’s your choice whether to include them or not.    When I quilt both the top and bottom lines of the pattern I just stitch in the ditch until time to move up into the whale.

Salty Seas 8″ Border Pattern

This pattern has rope weaving up and down through nautical items such as lantern, wheel, lighthouse, and lobsters and crabs. It can be used as a border like Angela did on my quilt, or as an Edge to Edge with two variations.

Attached is a possible layout and pictures of  “It’s Gonna Blow,” my Nor’easter quilt designed for MQX a few years ago.  We had a Nor’easter that year too!  Brrrr!  Slush, slush!

The Nor’easter pictogram is the central portion of the quilt.  In fact, you can buy the 3 coordinating patterns in the Nor’easter Set for 20% OFF.
